The Model Boat Club of NSW exists for those of us that love to build and race model power boats. We are an affiliated club to the Australian Model Power Boat Association (AMPBA).
Racing at our club is as per the AMPBA rule book, and predominantly consists of Oval Heat Racing (FOV).

Racing classes are based on hull type, method of power, and engine or battery capacity.

Hull types are Mono Hulls (Vee hulls), Tunnel Hulls (catamarans), and Hydroplanes.

Method of power can be either Internal Combustion Engines or Battery Powered.

Internal Combustion engine classes are;
Class A     up to 3.5cc
Class B      3.5cc to 7.5cc
Class C     7.51cc to 11cc
Class X     11cc to 30cc
16cc to 25cc Petrol & 35cc Open Petrol (whipper snipper type engines)

We also cater to Electric Classes based on battery cell counts /voltage.

The Home of the MODEL BOAT CLUB OF NSW is the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith, N.S.W. (Entrance is via Gate D on Castlereagh Rd, - veer right follow track around to the Detention Pond and your there!)

*Please Note! For Insurance reasons any persons that would like to come and run a boat on either our practice or race days, you must be a financial member of the AMPBA and an Affiliated AMPBA club.
